Laiva Gold Mine is owned by Nordic Gold Oy. Nordic Gold acquired the Laiva Gold Mine and their plan is to return Laiva pits and plant to production in August 2018. Dewatering started in January 2018 and infill drilling started in February 2018. All necessary infrastructure is currently in place. Skilled and educated workforce was one of the main reasons for Nordic Gold to invest to this Finnish mine. There is also a strong mining heritage and world class infrastructure in Finland. Finland was rated the Worlds top mining jurisdiction by Fraser Institute in 2017.
Deputy mine manager
As a Deputy Mine Manager you will be assisting the Mine Manager in the overall management of the mining process, for example in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance.

You will have your own crucial role in design team as an expert for drafting and designing. You will be surrounded by other professionals and you will co-operate daily with different stakeholders of the project.
JUNIOR MINING ENGINEER
In this position you will work as a mining engineer, responsible for the safe and efficient development of mines. You will also oversee and manage the production and ensure the safety and efficiency of the mine.
You will for example develop and utilize Standard Job Plans for routine maintenance activities, continually review, and seek feedback and optimize resources, parts, tooling, task list, safety information, risk assessment.

The Laiva gold mine is located in Finland, approximately 15km south of the town of Raahe. Discovered in 1980s, the mine is owned by Nordic Gold and is one of the largest gold deposits in the Nordic region based on current reserve estimates. Historic expenditure is estimated at €220 million. The mine is a conventional open pit mine with 2 pits. Dewatering started January 2018 and infill drilling started February 2018. The mine is located with excellent access to local infrastructure, including grid power (110 kV line), paved all weather roads (within 3 km) and port (within 20 km). All necessary infrastructure is currently in place.
